Essence - Purple Magic

Oh, my... Purple gorgeousness for sure! I remember saying I didn't like purples when I started this blog, can you believe it?! I take it all back. Every word. Who am I kidding, purples rock! And I'm not just talking about this beauty, I'm talking about purples in general. I. Love. Purples. Can't get any clearer than that! Anyhow, let's talk about today's pretty. Pictured is two coats of the well-pigmented Essence Purple Magic, from their Show Your Feet collection. I've had absolutely no problems with this polish, I loved the flawless application, the blue-toned color and that hot shimmer. If you look closely you can see very tiny pink and blue particles, just wow.

Titanic inspired nails

Hi guys, I've entered another nail art contest, themed "Thank God, I'm a woman!". The contest is hosted by Orlica and this time all the entries had to be related with why you like to be a woman. Although I have many reasons why I'm happy to be a girl, I just couldn't think of a fun and original way to capture those on my nails. The theme of this contest was so challenging! After a LOT of thinking, I decided to make Titanic inspired nails. It's one of my favorites movies and I'm not just saying that because of the overwhelming love story, lol. I know many find the movie very corny, but I can't help but loving it :P It's everything about it, there's a reason why it won 11 Academy Awards! So I picked Titanic as my theme, because as a girl, it's okay to love that movie without being frowned upon ;-) I freehanded the ship itself on my thumb and on my ringfinger I have Rose's Heart of the Ocean necklace, made with a dotting tool and rhinestones. Once again, it was a really tough theme, but all the contestants have been really creative to think of something cute, so go check them out and vote for your favorite!

Very random

Hi everyone, yesterday I showed you my new favorite pink creme, OPI Dim Sum Plum. I already told you that Dim Sum Plum is a one-coater, fast drying and therefore great for tape manis. So for today's post I have the tape mani I made with it. The title of this post pretty much explains it all. For the design I'd cut tape strips in random sizes and randomly placed them vertically or horizontally on my nails, which creates a strong graphical pattern with right angles. I really like how each pattern is different, since I usually do the same design on all nails, it makes it more interesting to look at in my opinion. The black on top is my usual, Color Club Where's The Soiree? and I also added Essence Matt topcoat afterwards. Hope you guys like it, see ya! :)

OPI - Dim Sum Plum

Aaah... My new favorite pink! I bought OPI Dim Sum Plum just recently and I instantly fell in love with it, the first time I used it. The formula is smooth, it covers so evenly and it's really opaque! Pictured is only one coat, can you believe it?! Application was very nice too, this polish and the wide brush make it so easy to apply neatly, needing only minimal clean-up afterwards. A perfect blue-toned pink creme, magenta if you will. It's bright but not in-your-face bright, great for all seasons and fast drying because of the single coat for opacity, what a miracle. It's so pretty!

DV8 Circus

Hi guys! Yesterday I showed you China Glaze DV8, a beautiful holographic polish, which I've used to create today's 'circus' design. You may have seen this tape design before here in an older post, I remember liking it a lot and that I wanted to use it more often, but I still had so many other ideas to try out that I never got to doing it again. So here it is, my second 'circus-tent-ceiling-mani', what a name, lol. It's not as neat as my first attempt, so I'll just keep my nails at a larger distance, which is much better for my eyes as well ;) Enjoy your day!

China Glaze - DV8

Hi guys, finally there was sun today! Holo time. This is China Glaze DV8, a beautiful teal/blue holo. DV8 isn't as holo as Gosh Holo, for example, but still really pretty to look at. The application was very nice, I applied two coats for full coverage, and what was even better was the drying time! In several minutes it's completely dry, so it's also a great polish to use for tape manis ;-) Good night!

Cute double lightning bolt

Hi guys! I felt like doing a double lightning bolt again :) This time it's a very cute and girly version, kind of like a badass princess mani, lol. I used two pinks from Essie for it: Lion Around and Your Hut Or Mine, from the 2011 Resort collection. I actually bought Lion Around (the lighter pink) just to complete the set of four, but I'm glad I did, because it looks so cute together with Your Hut Or Mine :) And I didn't have anything like it yet anyway. For the gold in the middle I used China Glaze 2030, my favorite, and to make the whole look softer, I applied a matt topcoat. Mine is from Essence. Hope you guys like it, thanks for reading!

My Kleancolor glitter polishes, part 2

Recently I ordered more of the popular Kleancolor glitters from Beauty Joint, I just couldn't resist. They look so amazing and unique, and they're so affordable. I'm dying to make some swatches for you guys, but the weather here has been bad lately! In the morning when I get up I'm blinded by the amount of sunlight, but quickly after I've had breakfast it gets terribly cloudy again. This happened like five days in a row now... Sigh. So until then I've got some pretty bottle shots for you, feast your eyes!

You can view my other Kleancolor glitters here.
