Tutorial: Bubbly champagne glass

Hi everyone! Here's my first New Year's Eve nail art tutorial, just in time for the 31st. In this tutorial I'll show you how to make a simple glass of bubbly champagne. The design is very doable, whether you're experienced or just beginning with nail art. So if you're still looking for a fun and super easy design for the last day of this year, this might just be the one!

Tutorial: Reindeer Rudolph

Hi everyone! Yesterday I showed you my Rudolph accent nail mani. And since a lot of you seem to enjoy all the Christmas tutorials each year, I thought I would show you how to make this cheeky Rudolph this time. Just follow along the steps below! Continue reading »

Tutorial: Holly Leaf

Hello, creative person! Welcome to my holly leaf tutorial. Like the design it is inspired by, the freehand cloud, it's quick and simple to make, even with the small additions. What I like about this design (apart from being very Christmassy ^_^), is that it combines the use of different tools. It's a great way to practice both freehand and dotting skills. But once again, it's pretty simple so I hope you'll give it a try! Continue reading »

Tutorial: Bare Christmas Tree

Hello everyone! Welcome to my third Christmas tree tutorial. (You can find the first two here and here.) This one shows you how to make an easy-peasy freehand Christmas tree. Even if you're a nail art beginner, this design is very doable. Continue reading »

Tutorial: Abstract '80s

Hi everybody, welcome to my tutorial for the abstract '80s design! One thing I like about this design is the translucent triangle, for which I can use my sheer polishes. I normally avoid those because they take so many layers to get opaque, but from now on they have a purpose! (Next to glitter sandwiches. ;)) But the sheer triangle comes only at the end, so apart from a sheer polish you'll also need a basecolor and a polish for the angled shape in step 4. Let me show you how it works then! Continue reading »

Tutorial: Vertical Lightning Bolt

Hello everyone! Welcome to my vertical lightning bolt tutorial! You may have already tried its siblings the lightning bolt French or double lightning bolt, if you like those but want to step it up a notch, then this fellow is the right thing. It involves more individual tape strips and precision than the previously mentioned designs, so using it on an accent nail only is recommended if you don't have too much time. But if you enjoy the process as much as the end result, such as myself, why not go all the way for a special occasion? Continue reading »

Tutorial: Studded V-gap

Hi everyone, it's time for a new tutorial! :-) This time I'll show you how to make the studded V-gaps I used in my third day of the 31 Day Challenge. What I like about this design, is that it goes well with both subtle and bold shades, adding an edgy element. Plus it's pretty simple to make. What you need is roll of tape, scissors, a dotting tool, and of course a couple of nice nail polishes.

Tutorial: Miffy

Hello everyone! Welcome to my Miffy tutorial. :) This design was dedicated to a friend, but aside from that I've always loved this Dick Bruna character as I grew up with it. So having it on my nails at age 22 doesn't only look cute but also brings up childhood memories. ^^ Miffy isn't too difficult to recreate, all you need is a few basic colors and a little patience. ;-) You can use regular nail polish to draw her, but I prefer acrylic paint in this case, because it's more opaque and doesn't dry too quick so it's easier to work with. Tutorial: Freehand cloud design

Hello everybody, welcome to this tutorial! This time I'll show you how to make the freehand cloud look. All you need for this quick and easy design is three pretty polishes and the brushes that come with it, so there's no extra equipment needed. Use this layered look on accent nails, for a full mani or... to cover up tipwear from an old mani. :) Continue reading »

Tutorial: Abstract Christmas tree design

Hello everyone! Recently I posted my second Holiday tutorial, which shows you how to make a traditional Christmas tree shape. But for this tutorial I have an abstract take on the Christmas tree, for the more modern nail art fans who are looking for something different. All you need is two polishes, tape and something to act like your tree topper. I used a rhinestone, but you could also use one larger (star shaped) glitter, a sticker, a stamping design and so on. Be creative ;-)

Tutorial: Tape Christmas tree design

Hi everybody, welcome to my second Holiday design tutorial! In this tutorial I'll be showing you how to make the classic Christmas tree shape, with the help of tape for perfectly crisp lines. The design isn't too difficult to achieve, but you do need to cut and place many tape strips, so you may want to use it for accent nails only if you'd like to save yourself a lot of work ;-) Let's give it a try, shall we? Tutorial: Snowflake

Hello everybody, welcome to my snowflake tutorial! Snowflakes have such beautiful and delicate shapes that instantly make a cute winter mani. In this tutorial I'll show you how to make a detailed but fairly simple snowflake. All you need is a small nail art brush and two matching polishes. Let's start! Continue reading »

Tutorial: Citrus design

Hi everyone, welcome to my citrus design tutorial :) I first made this design for my entry in the Good Enough To Eat contest at Nail Polish Art Addiction, a few months ago. The shape of a sliced citrus fruit has always amazed me for some reason, so for the contest I made this exotic, abstract pattern. A few of you dear readers requested a tutorial for it, so here it finally is :) Continue reading »

Tutorial: Cartoon heart

Hi everyone, welcome to my cartoon heart tutorial! After several tape method tutorials, I thought it would be fun to make one with a freehand design. It's a girly and simple design that only takes little time to make. And using it on a few accent nails is a nice way to add something cute to your mani. So go get your brushes and let's do some nail art ;) Continue reading »

Tutorial: Explosion design tape mani

Hi everyone, welcome to my 'explosion' shape tutorial! The first time I used this design was in my 4th of July mani , representing fireworks. You loved it and requested a tutorial, so here it is :) The taping technique I use for it is similar to the zigzag pattern, so it's not very hard but it does require some patience because there are two taping sessions. So to make the time this design takes reasonable, I recommend using one-coaters or a fast drying topcoat. Continue reading »

Tutorial: Zigzag pattern tape mani

Hi everyone, welcome to my fifth tutorial! This time I'm going to show you how I create the zigzag pattern using tape. It's not very hard but it does require some patience because it involves two times of taping and the layers of polish need to be completely dry in order to do that. To speed up the process I recommend using polishes that cover in one coat or a fast drying topcoat for on top of polishes with a longer drying time. So pick three colors and let's start! Continue reading »

Tutorial: Double lightning bolt tape mani

Hi everyone, welcome to my fourth tutorial! Making the double lightning bolt is actually not that different from making the single one; what you need to do is actually just repeat the steps from the regular lightning bolt tutorial. But because the double version received so many enthusiastic reactions I decided it deserved its own tutorial :) Continue reading »

Tutorial: Lightning bolt French tape mani

Hi guys, it's time for another tutorial! This time I will show you how to make the lightning bolt French. The design is very simple to achieve and perfect for covering up extreme tipwear or VNL (visible nail line). Continue reading »

Tutorial: Mummy tape mani

Hi everyone, my second tutorial! This time it's another simple, easy-to-achieve look: the mummy pattern. The mummy tape pattern is basically consists of placing tape strips of any size underneath each other, preferably a bit diagonally. This creates a funky design which looks a lot like wrapped ribbons, hence 'mummy'. Continue reading »

Tutorial: laser design tape mani
